Weston’s beloved landmark Grand Pier will live on forever – on the new MONOPOLY: Somerset board.

Makers of the official game have shown their support for the county's leading iconic landmark by dedicating THE TRENDIEST space on their brand new board to the 104-year-old Grand Pier.

The new MONOPOLY: Somerset game will be unveiled at The Grand Pier at 10.30am on Tuesday (14th October 2008). The game features the charms of the county from Weston to Wells.

As well as grabbing a £100 priced slot the pier is also prominently displayed on the box lid cover. The £100 slot on the original MONOPOLY board is the fashionable The Angel, Islington.

The much-anticipated game hits shop shelves on Tuesday morning – nearly three months since a blaze ravaged the historic pier.

“It was unthinkable that we would not include the Grand Pier in all its pomp and glory,” declares the game’s creator Mark Marriott

“It’s at the heart of Somerset and the heart of our new game.

"That was the overwhelming call from the great Somerset public.

“It will now live on forever.”
